| A Brand Book is a record of all registered brands in a governmental area. In most states of the United States, a single Brand Book is kept for the entire state. In Texas, Brand Books exist for each county since brands are registered at the county level rather than for the entire state. |
| Brand Books may be obtained by contacting the apppropriate government agency or official in each state. In most cases, you should contact the state Department of Agriculture. Every state that has 'Branding Laws' allows private individuals to purchase Brand Books for a reasonable fee. Most states allow sherrifs and law enforcement agencies within the state to receive Brand Books for free. In some cases, the brand book is available for viewing on the internet. For more specific information about obtaining a Brand Book for a particular state, check the brand laws for that state. |
